CEI Project Administrator-Project Manager

Volkert, a Top 100 design firm (#87, ENR), is engineering the future of infrastructure in Transportation, Energy, Water, and Environment.  Volkert is searching for a CEI Project Administrator/Project Engineer experienced working with the Department of Transportation in Jacksonville, FL or Fort Lauderdale, FL.  We are a national engineering firm, designing the future of transportation, energy, water, and environmental infrastructure – are we the road to your future?

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing and performing construction engineering and inspection duties on highway and bridge construction projects
  • Expected to exercise initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problems
  • Directs and assigns specific tasks to administrative staff, contract support specialists and inspectors
  • Responsible for the progress and final estimates throughout the construction project duration
  • Reporting and documentation of construction work on a daily basis as well as client management responsibilities

Requirements:

  • S. Diploma or GED with a minimum of eight (8) years of related engineering experience, two (2) years of which involved construction of major road or bridge structures

Or

  • A Civil Engineering degree plus two (2) years of engineering experience in construction of major road and bridge structures

AND

  • Must be computer literate with MS Word and Excel
  • FDOT Advanced MOT Certification
  • Attend the CTQP Quality Control Manager course and pass the examination
  • CTQP Final Estimates Level II
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with Volkert’s driving policy

Preferred Requirements:

  • Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Florida
  • Experience with FDOT Policies and Procedures
