The Dulles Corridor Metrorail Silver Line is a new, 23-mile Metrorail line, extending service from the existing Orange Line in Falls Church past Dulles International Airport into Loudoun County.  With 11 stations, it will serve several major activity centers, and result in a multimodal system of trains, buses, pedestrian bridges, and parking facilities designed to relieve congestion in major activity centers.

Volkert reviews plans and conducts a variety of traffic studies and analyses to determine the project’s impacts to the surrounding street network and verify compliance to VDOT, FHWA, and Fairfax County standards.  Circulation, access management, safety, geometric, and multi-modal issues on the streets and within the Metro stations are addressed. Volkert also provides real estate management services including administrative oversight of land acquisition, property out-grants, and development assistance.
