Ten Mile Creek Restoration
The project consisted of stabilizing approximately 1,900 linear feet of Ten Mile Creek, located in the Eleven Mile Creek Drainage Basin and Perdido Bay Watershed. This area was substantially damaged during the April 2014 rain event that severely impacted the stream along the Perdido Bay Watershed.
Volkert provided professional engineering and environmental services, including development of construction documents with specifications, watershed assessments, engineering analysis, environmental permitting and preservation, coordination and approval with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), stormwater design and modeling, and utility coordination.
The stream modeling was completed using the existing Escambia County Interconnected Pond Routing (ICPR) drainage basin model. This project was funded by the USDA, NRCS, and the Emergency Watershed Protection program.
